Joint Operation In Bosnia

Participating in joint mission in Bosnia US forces took control of three key buildings formerly occupied by Bosnian forces. The Army, Navy, and Air Force were each assigned a building to secure.

The Army sent in their best special forces team who blew out the doors and windows of the first building, then set up a defensive perimeter of small arms, artillery and barbed wire.

The Navy Seals slipped into the ventilator system of the second building and held their position until Marine reinforcements arrived to establish a permanent base.

The Air Force took control of the final building with a crack team of contracting officers who secured the building on a three year lease with an option to buy, including new drapes, paint and carpet along with a cappuccino machine and a microwave oven in the lunch room. The build-out provisions have been classified "Top Secret". The Air Force team sustained one casualty. An unidentified airman slipped and fell on the newly re-tilled floor of the building's health spa, causing additional damage to an existing case of "tennis elbow". He is under medical supervision at the Costa del Sol resort in Spain. For their efforts the eight-man Air Force team were awarded a total of sixteen decorations.
